Due to Salzburg's central location, it offers excellent railway connections from around Austria. The railway line between Munich and Salzburg is one of the most beautiful in the world.
Train station Salzburg:
Whoever arrives by rail, will take the first step to discovering Salzburg's history. When the train station was opened in 1860, it also opened up the isolated Crown land to the rest of the world. In the meantime it's role as Germany's border station played an important function. Now after many years of modification, it gleams with a new look.
From the train station to Wolf-Dietrich Hotel:
by taxi. You can reach the downtown hotel in about 7 minutes. in the center of the city, you will pass the new Salzburg Congress Building and one of the best Cafes: 'Fingerlos' in the Franz-Josef-Strasse.
by bus. Take the O-Bus (trolley bus) towards downtown, to the Mirabellplatz bus stop (ticket price EUR 1,70). Cross the street and follow the Paris-Lodron-Strasse. Turn right into the first street and follow the Wolf-Dietrich-Strasse. You will find the hotel downtown at the top end of the street on the right after about a 5 minute walk.
by foot. You will need about 15 minutes to reach our downtown hotel, however there are no points of interest along the way worth mentioning.
