Born on the 27th January, 1756 as Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus, better known as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The 3rd floor apartment with a kitchen, livingroom and bedroom, where he was born, was his home for 26 years.
Today the house is a 3 storey museum.

The young Mozart lived here with his family until 1780 and wrote many symphonies, serenades, as well as five concerts for the violin and piano during this time. Today the family's rooms in this apartment have been converted into a museum, and they tell the story of Mozart, his family and the house.
Magic Flute Cottage.
This little wooden house can be found in the Bastions Garden, which is accessable from the Mozarteum and adjoins the Mirabell Garden. It is said that Mozart composed part of the Magic Flute here and that he was locked inside until he completed the piece by the agreed time.
